An entrepreneur and director of Northernlight, Gregor Gregory previously served as the president of AAUG Realty, a construction company in South Florida. In addition to developing business ventures, Gregor Gregory is an avid hiker and counts the Pacific Northwest among his top hiking destinations.
Well-known for its natural beauty, the Pacific Northwest features hiking opportunities through designated wilderness areas and national, state, and county parks. Here are three hikes recommended by outdoor publications and organizations.
Pasayten Wilderness
Located in Washington, the Pasayten Wilderness features 40 miles of the northernmost section of the Pacific Crest Trail. Outdoor enthusiasts seeking a shorter hike can catch views of such nearby mountains such as Mt. Baker by hiking Chopaka Mountain and Goodenough Park. The Wilderness Society recommends starting this 10-mile hike through the eastern Pasayten Wilderness at the entrance to Cold Springs.
Mount Storm King Trail
Featured on The Mandagies blog, this challenging hike on the Olympic Peninsula stands out for its sheer heights and vast views. Hikers gain 3000 feet in elevation on the 4.7-mile trail using the trail’s ropes.
Strawberry Mountain Wilderness Loop
The 20-mile Strawberry Mountain Wilderness Loop is a top multi-day hike, according to the Outdoor Project. It’s a less popular trail than many other nearby trails, and features camping spots at several lakes and views of Central Oregon from the top of Strawberry Mountain.
